Position 1: SAP SD – EDI Integration Specialist
Location: India (Remote)

🚨 MAIN REQUIREMENT: MUST HAVE GLOBAL AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Core Purpose of the Role
This role serves as the critical bridge between SAP SD and EDI, specifically the cross-reference layer connecting:
SAP → IDOC → EDI Translator → Customer
This is the most unique and business-critical aspect of the role. The consultant must ensure SAP data flows correctly through IDOCs and is accurately translated to meet each customer’s unique EDI requirements.

Essential Technical Skills
SAP SD Expertise (Mandatory)

• End-to-end SD process knowledge
• Customer master, material master, pricing, packaging
• Table-level understanding (fields, segments)
• Knowledge of how SD processes populate IDOCs

SAP IDOC Expertise

• IDOC structures (segments, fields)
• Mapping SD data to IDOCs
• IDOC troubleshooting
• Relevant SAP T-codes

EDI Expertise (Mandatory)

• EDI message standards and mapping logic
• Interpreting customer implementation guidelines
• Understanding how IDOCs are transformed via EDI translators
• Experience with messages such as:
  • 820 – Payment Advice
  • 862 – Shipping Schedule
  • 856 – ASN
    (among many others)

Mapping / Cross-Reference Skills (Most Unique Requirement)

• Aligning SAP outputs with customer EDI expectations
• Modifying IDOCs and mapping rules
• Ensuring correct field-level data delivery to translators

Automotive & Process Expertise

• Global automotive supplier experience
• OEM exposure (Honda, Ford, GM, Chrysler, etc.)
• JIT calls and scheduling agreements
• Automotive-specific scheduling types (e.g., ZSJ)
• Understanding how SAP processes generate EDI messages

Scale & Complexity

• Thousands of customer-specific EDI maps
• Hundreds of suppliers and customers
• Multiple EDI messages per supplier, tied to different SAP processes

Soft Skills / Role Fit

• Strong troubleshooting across SAP, IDOC, and EDI layers
• Ability to work with business, SAP, and mapping teams
• Strong attention to detail
• Customer-facing communication skills
