Job Description:
  • Management of “Middleware” technologies utilized including:
•       Weblogic (Linux)
•       Tomcat / Apache (Linux, small Windows footprint)
•       Fiorano (Linux)
•       Websphere (Windows, limited installations)
  • Ensure the health and performance of Middleware technology services. Monitor via automated/manual “health checks” scripts.
  • Manage customer service tickets for Middleware technologies using ServiceNow
  • Install, configure, and support Middleware technologies for: 
  • Core Student Information Systems applications (Ellucian Banner installations)
  • Application requirements for vendor and partner integrations/communications
  • Support Marketing team web applications (Apache) 
  • Respond and resolve issues with Middleware technologies. Participate in Corrective Action resolution activities.
  • Implement or re-configure Middleware technologies  
  • Automation of common Middleware tasks or processes to increase efficiency and optimize the environment
  • Documented Linux Systems Administration experience (Red Hat preferred).  Windows systems administration experience desired.
  • Significant Weblogic, Tomcat, and Apache (or equivalent) installation, configuration, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to create, modify, and troubleshoot Linux shell scripts
  • Exposure to ‘core” AWS services is a plus (EC2, VPC, Direct Connect)
  • Any exposure to Ansible (desirable).
  • Experience using ServiceNow to manage customer ticket queue
  • ITIL v2/3 process knowledge (Incident, Change, Problem, Release)
  • Experience in an enterprise-scale data center environment
